Reggie Miller

On August 24, in 1965, 5-time NBA All-Star Reggie Miller was born in Riverside, California.

Reggie Miller is a former professional basketball player in the United States who spent his whole 18-year career with the Indiana Pacers of the National Basketball Association (NBA). Miller was recognized for his pinpoint three-point shooting, particularly in high-pressure circumstances and against the New York Knicks, earning him the moniker “Knick Killer.” He held the record for most 3-point field goals made in a career when he retired. He is now ranked fourth behind Stephen Curry, Ray Allen and James Harden on the list. Miller was a five-time All-Star who won a gold medal at the 1996 Summer Olympics after leading the league in free throw percentage five times.

Reggie Miller grew up watching his father, a truck driver who played semi-professional basketball, play basketball every day. Reggie didn’t want to play football or baseball; instead, he wanted to follow in his father’s footsteps and play basketball. He played college basketball at UCLA before being picked 11th overall by the Pacers in 1987.

Reggie Miller is regarded as one of the best shooters in NBA history. He was a great scorer who played with a lot of passion and ferocity. He was also willing to take big shots on large stages, something not many players are. It’s only natural for us to admire him as he enters retirement for all he’s given us over his career.

Miller is largely regarded as the greatest player in Pacers history. In 2006, the team retired his No. 31. He currently works for TNT as an NBA commentator. Miller was named to the NBA 75th Anniversary Team in 2021 after being inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 2012.
